Product Advantages

  • Modular and Standardized: All components (trusses, beams, bridge decks, connectors) have standardized specifications, like "bridge building blocks," ensuring high interchangeability.
  • Rapid Assembly: No large specialized equipment is required; erection and dismantling can be completed quickly using mainly manual labor and light machinery.
  • Strong Structural Integrity and High Load-Bearing Capacity: The truss structure effectively distributes loads. The span and load capacity can be flexibly adjusted by increasing the number of truss sections (single row, double row, triple row) and the number of layers (single layer, double layer, triple layer).

Wide Adaptability:

  • Flexible Span: From a few meters to hundreds of meters (theoretically, the maximum span can reach over 120 meters).
  • Variable Load: Through different design combinations, it can meet the passage requirements of pedestrians, light vehicles, heavy tanks (tracked load -50 level), and large equipment.
  • Terrain Adaptability: Suitable for various scenarios including rivers, canyons, bridge repair, and temporary construction bridges.
  • Reusability and Economic Efficiency: Components can be disassembled and reused multiple times, resulting in low amortization costs, making it particularly suitable for temporary projects and emergency rescue.

Product Components

Temporary bridge Bailey structures form a complete load-bearing system through the combination of standardized components. Each component is designed to balance ease of transport and reliable connection. The main core components include:

  • Bailey Panels (Truss Units): The core load-bearing component, using welded steel truss structures. Common models include type 321 (3m single panel length) and type 200 (2m single panel length). Connected by pins or bolts, they can be combined to form main beams of different spans, forming the core source of structural load-bearing capacity.
  • Crossbeams: Transverse support components, spanning between the upper chords of the Bailey panels. They support the bridge deck system and evenly transfer the load to the main beams. They are commonly made of I-beams or channel steel, with spacing rationally arranged according to load requirements.
  • Longitudinal Beams: Longitudinal connecting components, laid along the length of the bridge above the transverse beams, further distributing the bridge deck load and providing a smooth support surface for the bridge deck pavement.
  • Bridge Deck Units: The surface structure that directly bears the traffic load. Depending on requirements, it can use anti-slip steel plates, concrete pavement, or a combination of both. The surface is usually sloped to ensure drainage; in some scenarios, anti-slip patterns or anti-slip layers are added.
  • Connecting and Stabilizing Components: Includes pins, bolts, anti-lateral braces, and guy ropes. Pins are the core fasteners for Bailey bridge panel connections and must be precisely aligned to transfer shear force. Anti-lateral braces and guy ropes enhance the lateral stability of the structure, preventing overturning during erection or use.
  • Foundations and Supports: The substructure supporting the entire structure. In temporary scenarios, concrete caps, bored piles, or island-backfilled foundations can be used. Supports are located between the foundation and the ends of the main beams, ensuring load transfer while accommodating minor displacement.

Application Areas

  • Emergency Rescue: When bridges are damaged by disasters such as floods and earthquakes, temporary passages can be quickly constructed to ensure the transportation of rescue personnel and supplies.
  • Temporary Traffic for Construction Projects: During road reconstruction and expansion, or bridge demolition and reconstruction, temporary bridges can be constructed to maintain the passage of surrounding vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Construction Support: As a temporary support system for the installation of cast-in-place concrete beams and precast beams, it is suitable for overhead operations during bridge construction.
  • Temporary Access in Remote Areas: In mountainous areas, mining areas, and other areas with inconvenient transportation, temporary bridges can be constructed to meet construction or daily traffic needs; they can be dismantled and recycled after the project is completed.
