Modular Bailey Bridge For Logging Forestry Transport Route

Modular Bailey Bridge For Logging Forestry Transport Route

The deck takes a beating from chains, binders and sliding logs, and the ground underneath is soft forest soil with a high water table. We laid it out to open a haul road over perennial streams without touching fish habitat, and to come out clean when the harvest's done. The modular bailey bridge for logging forestry transport route is built for this.

Product Introduction

A loaded log truck with a 20 m tree length on the back is a different animal from a highway load - those rear axles and pole-trailer combos blow past standard road weights, and they cross the same stream or gully over and over. We built this modular Bailey bridge for the high, slow, repeated loads of exactly that operation. Forest work moves with the harvest, so the bridge has to be struck, hauled to the next landing and reassembled along the skid trail.

Features

Reinforced chords and deep floor beams take the repeated loaded-log-truck crossings. The modular bailey bridge for logging forestry transport route makes this practical.

Hardwood decking shrugs off chains, binders and log abrasion far better than steel plate.

Soft-soil abutment sills spread the load on forest ground without pile driving.

Quick strike and relocation follow the harvest from landing to landing.

Elevated deck clearance keeps fish passage open during high-water events.

Timber deck is locally replaceable if a chain or a slid log chews it up.

Working Principle

It runs as a through-truss girder, but the detail that matters here is the deck. Loads come down through the hardwood planks and steel joists into the transverse floor beams, then into the twin or triple main trusses. The diagonals carry the shear as axial tension and compression while the chords resist the bending envelope - straightforward enough. What we spec differently is the chord: loaded log trucks put high, repeated axle loads right at midspan, so we put reinforced chord segments over that zone to keep the panels happy. Erection is cantilever-launch - panels go up on one bank, extend on a launching nose and get pushed across the stream on light timber falsework. The abutments are timber sill beams on compacted gravel or log cribbing, which means no concrete in the sensitive riparian zone. Pin and bolt connections let you disassemble it fast and tool-light when the harvest moves on. The modular bailey bridge for logging forestry transport route is built for this.

Applications

This serves logging companies, forestry contractors, wood-products logistics and government forestry agencies. You'll use it for haul-road stream crossings during clear-cut or selective harvest, for spans over gullies on skid trails, for access to log-landing and mill-road crossings, and for temporary bridges during forest-thinning and fuel-reduction work. Watershed and wildlife groups also use it where a stream crossing has to come out without disturbing the habitat. The modular bailey bridge for logging forestry transport route is built for this.
