Product Introduction
Reclamation sites are a mess of soft new ground, water channels and borrow areas that can't yet take a permanent road. We built this Bailey bridge to give you a heavy temporary roadway over all of it - across the dredging channels, over the borrow areas, and onto the softest freshly placed fill. It hauls dump trucks of rock, excavators and crawler cranes through the years of fill placement and consolidation. The environment is brackish, sandy and corrosive, so every steel part has to stand up to salt spray, tidal wetting and wind-blown sand grinding at it. And as the reclamation line pushes out, the bridge strikes and relocates with it - so you leave nothing behind in the finished harbor or waterfront. The bailey bridge for coastal reclamation construction site is built for this.
Features
Marine coating system resists salt spray, tidal wetting and brackish water. The bailey bridge for coastal reclamation construction site makes this practical.
Heavy deck surfacing survives dumped rock and tracked excavator undercarriages.
Wide two-way lanes keep the fill convoys rolling without turnaround delays.
Soft-ground bent supports use pile clusters or gravel mattresses that settle gradually.
Relocatable as the reclamation line advances, which maximizes panel utilization.
Insulated fastener details prevent galvanic corrosion at dissimilar-metal contacts.
Working Principle
Up top it's a through-truss: dump-truck loads pass from the checkered plate down through the floor beams into the twin or triple trusses, the diagonals spread the shear as axial forces, and the chords take the bending. The real difference on a reclamation job is the ground. Because it's soft and still consolidating, we don't trust a single long span - instead we drop intermediate steel bents on pile clusters at closer intervals, which shortens the effective span and keeps the bending in the main truss down. Erection is cantilever-launch: panels are built on the working bank, pushed out over the fill channel on a launching nose, and dropped onto the pre-installed pile bents. The pin-and-clip panel joints need no field welding, which matters in a dusty, sandy environment. We torque and inspect every connection after erection, then go back and recheck it as the ground settles. The bailey bridge for coastal reclamation construction site is built for this.
Applications
This one's for land-reclamation contractors, port-expansion groups, coastal highway builders and dredging companies. Typical work is haul bridges over dredge channels during sand filling, crossings between reclamation cells, access to breakwater and seawall construction, and temporary roadways over freshly placed fill before settlement finishes. It also backs offshore wind-farm onshore laydown yards and coastal industrial-pad construction. The bailey bridge for coastal reclamation construction site is built for this.
