Product Introduction
The moment a tunnel portal opens, heavy excavators, dump trucks and concrete mixer fleets need a dependable crossing. The Modular Steel Bridge for Tunnel Construction Access Road is built to carry that sustained earthmoving traffic over the streams, gullies and old riverbeds that block the haul route from portal to spoil yard.
Its prefabricated panel system lets crews open a usable crossing within days of mobilization, before the main tunnel drives even start. Built on proven bailey-truss principles, it puts up with the dust, mud and repeated point loading of a working camp while staying fully demountable once breakthrough and lining are done. We aim it squarely at fast first passage and long service through the heaviest mobilization phase.
Features
Rapid mobilization: components ship in standard bundles and need no specialized foundation plant. The modular steel bridge for tunnel construction access road makes this practical.
Heavy-duty deck surfacing resists rutting from tracked excavators and articulated dumpers.
Modular panel count scales with span, so crews build exactly the length the gully needs.
Reinforced-chord option handles the recurring axle loads of concrete and muck haulage.
Hot-dip galvanized finish survives wet, muddy portal conditions without mid-project repainting.
Fully demountable and reusable for the next portal or phase.
Working Principle
This is a through-truss girder at heart. Floor beams pick up the wheel loads from the deck and feed them into the upper and lower chords, while the diagonal and vertical web members carry the resulting forces as tension or compression. Individual bailey panels pin together at the standard connector holes to form two parallel trusses spaced to the lane width, and transverse bracing between them gives lateral stability and resists side-sway. The modular steel bridge for tunnel construction access road is built for this.
We normally erect by cantilever launch: panels are assembled on one bank and pushed out over the gap on a light launching nose, guided by rollers on the abutments. When the span reaches the far support, the nose comes off and the decking goes down. Pin connections and bolted joints mean field assembly needs nothing more than ordinary wrenches and sledgehammers.
Applications
Typical deployment includes tunnel portal access roads, spoil-yard crossings, river culvert replacements during mountain tunneling, and temporary haul bridges at hydro, highway and metro tunnel sites. It serves civil construction contractors, tunneling subcontractors and project owners who need a durable, fast-opening crossing for earthmoving and concrete-supply fleets, and it gets reused across multiple portal locations within a single tunnel program. The modular steel bridge for tunnel construction access road is built for this.
