Product Introduction

Hydroelectric jobs are brutal on access. You've got a narrow valley, a fast river you can't dam until the cofferdam's up, and a constant stream of concrete-pump trucks, agitators and crawler cranes that all need to get from the access road to both banks. We built this prefabricated Bailey bridge for exactly that multi-year grind. It spans the diverted river channel during the diversion stage, then carries on across the permanent reservoir once impoundment starts - so you're not rebuilding the crossing halfway through the job. Sites like these are remote and wet, so the structure has to shrug off constant humidity, sediment-laden spray and the slow, heavy loads that come with mass-concrete work. We also designed the erection to be phased, so the bridge grows in step with your diversion schedule instead of forcing you to wait around for it. The prefabricated bailey bridge for hydroelectric plant construction is built for this.

Features

Triple-truss options let you put crawler cranes and concrete pumps across at peak concreting stages. The prefabricated bailey bridge for hydroelectric plant construction makes this practical.

Deep floor beams soak up the concentrated loads from boom-pump outriggers.

Splash-zone corrosion protection handles the constant river humidity and spray.

Phased erection tracks your river-diversion sequence, so there's no idle time waiting on the bridge.

Wide deck lets two concrete trucks pass each other during the big pours.

Modular panels are recoverable and reusable once the plant is commissioned.

Working Principle

Think of it as a through-truss girder that we grow across the gap. On site, the deck loads travel down through the checkered plate into the deep floor beams, which feed them sideways into the twin or triple parallel trusses. The diagonals take the shear and turn it into pure tension or compression along their length, while the chords carry the bending moment envelope of the whole span. Where the midspan gets hammered - and on a hydro job that's most of the time - we drop in reinforced chord segments so the panel stresses stay inside the limit. Erection follows the cantilever-launch method: we build the panels up on one bank, push a launching nose out over the diversion channel, and a winch or a gantry walks the truss out to the far abutment. The reactions land on concrete abutments or steel bent caps sitting on piles. Every panel joint is pinned or bolted, so there's no field welding and you can keep erecting even when the valley weather turns. The prefabricated bailey bridge for hydroelectric plant construction is built for this.

Applications

This one's aimed at hydroelectric EPC contractors, dam builders and river-development authorities. You'll use it for river crossings during cofferdam and diversion-tunnel work, for getting crews into the intake and powerhouse areas, for spanning the tailrace channel, and as a temporary haul bridge for spillway and stilling-basin construction. It also fits pumped-storage and run-of-river projects where both banks have to stay connected through a long build. The prefabricated bailey bridge for hydroelectric plant construction is built for this.
